MEMBERSHIP DUES ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear IPEG Member:
The International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG) is proud to say that our mission as an organization has grown stronger every year. Since the inception of the association in 1991, it has been exciting and truly fulfilling, as we have worked together to further our profession and to increase opportunities for our members to succeed in their careers.
IPEG wants to continue providing opportunities to its members, and so that we can do more for our membership, there will be a modest membership dues increase beginning this calendar year. Beginning with the January 2008 dues invoices, the dues will change as follows:
Active Members will increase from $175 to $200 annually.
Surgeon-In-Training and Allied Health Professional Members will increase from $110 to $125 annually.
Our society vision has also expanded to include research and education. To this end, the IPEG Executive Committee formed the IPEG Long Term Research Fund (LTRF). The primary goal of the LTRF is to award grants to IPEG members for research. In 2008, IPEG announced the application for its first research award grant. So that we can assist with future grants, a $25 donation to the LTRF in the form of a hard check-off is also included in your membership dues invoice. Members who do not wish to contribute to the LTRF must check-off their intent on their dues invoice. Please consider making a contribution to this effort, and consider matching or exceeding the $25 suggested contribution. Your contribution will be acknowledged on the IPEG website and during the annual congress.

Enhanced Customer Service: We have increased our ability to give you the personal service you deserve in several ways. We have upgraded the member management software and database. Our database allows us to bill according to your Join Date, a feature that gives you a full year of membership whenever you join!
Technology Improvements: Our web site is full-service and open 24/7 for you to find a full spectrum of membership information, programs, and activities. Our Members Only section gives you access to the complete member roster and on-line access to the Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, just to name a couple exclusive member options. There is user-friendly on-line registration for meetings and conferences. We offer all guidelines, publications, informational tools, calendar of events, and more. In the next year, more features will be added to give you the latest and greatest information in your profession.
Member Growth: The IPEG membership base has grown by more than 76% in the last seven years. Your association now boasts more than 600 total members and our global base now consists of 50 countries. We are truly an international group! The more we grow, the more professional resources and networking opportunities are available to you!
Active Participation Opportunities: IPEG’s annual congress continues to be the premier event for pediatric surgeons, offering the latest information through workshops, scientific sessions, and an exhibit hall. You are invited to submit abstracts, posters and presentations. There are numerous committees you can join within IPEG that reward your participation with excitement, dedication, knowledge, recognition, and your avenue to becoming a true leader and mentor in your area of expertise.
